Europe

Where does one start? With the Scandinavian North, Ancient Roman South, the picturesque east, and the Atlantic west, there is a wide variety of destinations. The most popular destinations in Europe are London, Paris, Rome, Munich, and Athens.

Paris

Paris is a favorite destination for many tourists. Don't be fooled by all the horror stories you here. The French are hospitable and friendly, especially if you are not obnoxious. The sights to see are plentiful.

The best place to lodge is in the Latin Quarter, centrally located and surrounding many residential areas, it is the perfect destination to see the sights while getting a taste of Parisian life. You should get a metropass while there. The pass will give you unlimited transportation throughout the city on their highly effecient system.

The Eiffel Tower will give you a birds eye view of the city. I would recommend checking the weather forecast and plan to go on the nicest day. Take food and just sit in the park adjacent to the Eiffel Tower and take in the scenery. At your leisure take a trip up to the top of the tower. When you are done, stick around and watch the area change when the Tower is lit up.

The Lourve is the greatest art museum in the world. Don't make the mistake of assuming that it will take a few hours to see. If you are really an art buff, you need two days to see this museum. If you are not, you still need a full day. Don't show up three hours after the opening, you will end up leaving before you have seen everything you want to see.

Notre Dame and the Arch de Triumph are both things you can see in a relatively short amount of time. Take these days to enjoy the city at a leisurely pace.

There are many other museums and quarters in Paris to enjoy, take your time and find these gems. You will surely find artists throughout, and enjoy the boardwalk along the Seine River or the view of the Hemingway quarter.

Rome

From Ancient Rome to the Vatican, there is plenty to see. Like Paris, they have great public transportation and you should take advantage of it. The food everyhere in Rome is incredible, but try to go to places that are not tourist traps. Try to eat where the locals eat, so you can get a real taste of Rome.

You can spend days in Ancient Rome, wondering what it would be like to be a spectator in the Coliseum during the Roman Games, or walking along the Appian Way. Take the time to imagine what the structures originally looked like.

The Vatican is another place that will take a couple of days to see. While there, you must see Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Cathedal. If you have the time, see all that the Vatican Museum has to offer.
